Environmental LCA of Precision Agriculture for Stone Fruit Production

Precision agriculture is a concept that encompasses various technologies aimed at optimizing the management of agricultural activities. The main aim this investigation to evaluate environmental and economic performance precision practices on production stone fruit crop (nectarine) using life cycle approach consider cradle-to-farm gate scope. results have been compared against traditional uniform application (UA). analysis considers five impact categories, including climate change, photochemical ozone formation, acidification, eutrophication, water use. foreground inventory data was provided by local producer in Southern Spain, background information sourced from commercial Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) databases. show manufacturing inputs (mainly fertilizers, but also inputs) responsible for most damage generated all except reduced input requirements associated with VA techniques resulted significantly lower costs savings throughout system, which ranged average between 12–26%.
